Design & Core Performance

Using 3D scans of the OEM TMIC, GrimmSpeed engineered a custom core and end tank layout to maximize cooling while keeping pressure drop extremely low. The result is a well-balanced intercooler designed for Subarus making up to 550–575whp, flowing over 1500 CFM, and resisting heat soak far better than stock.

Premium Permanent-Mold End Tanks

Unlike typical sand-cast aftermarket tanks, permanent-mold castings allow tight tolerances, smoother internal surfaces, and greater strength. Each tank is CNC-machined for flawless sealing and optimal airflow.

Performance Testing

On a 2.0L TD04 setup at 19 psi:

• Pressure drop averaged only ~0.1 psi
• OEM TMIC efficiency falls off after 3800–5000 rpm
• GrimmSpeed TMIC maintains stable outlet temps and refuses to heat-soak
